Manjit K. Misra,

Founder, FloMetrix

Manjit K. Misra is the founder of FloMetrix and a Professor of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering department at Iowa State University. He is also the Director of the globally renowned Seed Science Center, Director of the Global Food Security Consortium, the Founding Director of the Biosafety Institute for Genetically Modified Agricultural Products (BIGMAP), and the endowed Chair of Seed, Science and Technology at Iowa State University.
Misra earned a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering in India; and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Misra is a researcher with over $40M in external funding, an educator with 140 publications and an innovator with six patents. He has received a number of awards for his leadership including the "Distinguished Service Award" from the American Seed Trade Association and the "Order of the Knoll Faculty Award" from Iowa State University.
Recently appointed as chair of the USDA National Genetic Resources Advisory Council (NGRAC), Misra has served on more than 60 local, national, and international boards and committees. These include the steering committee for Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) International Conference on Biotechnology, the Scientific Advisory Council of the American Seed Research Foundation, and the Board of Directors of the Iowa Seed Association, the Iowa Crop Improvement Association, and the "First the Seed Foundation."

Yuh-Yuan Shyy,

Vice-President, Co-Founder, FloMetrix

Yuh-Yuan Shyy is the co-founder and Vice-President of FloMetrix. A Scientist, IT Chief, and Sr. Engineer of Seed Science Center at Iowa State University. He has more than 40 years' experience on machine design and automation.
Shyy earned his B.S. in Agricultural Engineering in Taiwan; and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Power & Machinery, Agricultural Engineering at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. He is a researcher and inventor with numerous publications and six US patents.
He likes to ride his motorcycles (Triumph Bonneville and Suzuki Boulevard) in Iowa's summer days and enjoy fishing, shooting, and camping in the rest of the year.

Michael Manjit Misra,

Testing Coordinator at Flometrix

Michael Manjit Misra is the Testing Coordinator at Flometrix. He joined Flometrix in August 2014, but has worked with Flometrix as an intern while attending Iowa State University. He graduated Cum Laude from Iowa State with B.S. degrees in Global Resource Systems and Sociology, and a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies. Born in Ames Iowa, Michael has traveled to the Netherlands, Ethiopia, Peru, Costa Rica, China, Mexico, and India for his course studies and work.
He has been the recipient of the "Sorghum Challenge Scholarship", "Iowa Crop Improvement Scholarship", "Robert Maxwell International Service Learning Scholarship", "Jean Wallace Douglas Sustainable Agriculture Award", and the "Iowa Seed Association/American Seed Association Scholarship."
